Job Summary: The Manager - Senior Manager, Accounts will be responsible for effective management of the accounts function in the Commission. The job holder reports to the Assistant General Manager Accounts

Key Responsibilities

  1. Prepares salary and other staff entitlements
  2. Prepares bank schedule for the payrolls and staff entitlements
  3. Ensures that all deductions (WHT,VAT,NHF etc.) are made and forwarded to beneficiaries
  4. Ensures that advances and loan ledgers are correctly up dated
  5. Ensures that all payment vouchers and Journals are correctly prepared.
  6. Prepares and retires imprest
  7. Raises necessary journal vouchers to correct errors or omissions in the accounts

Person Specification

Required Knowledge and Skills

  1. The ideal person for this position must be/possess:
  2. Able to communicate effectively with colleagues and others at all levels in the organization
  3. Rigorous attention to detail
  4. Numerate and analytical
  5. Proficient in the use of the computer, especially Excel, Word and Power Point.
  6. Working knowledge of any of the following  Accounting Softwares, Tally, Flexcube, Lotus and Oracle
  7. Able  to  work independently

Educational Background

  1. Must be a graduate of accounting / financial management
  2. Must be a qualified chartered accountant

Work Experience

Minimum of 9 - 12 years post-graduation experience working in the accounts department of a reputable public or private sector organisation
